These Titles Be Something
Something Wicked This Way Comes
“Discovery consists of seeing what everybody has seen and thinking what nobody has thought.”
I've seen a lot of things in my wild ride through this life. I never expected this particular future though.
Parts of it, sure, but not the whole enchilada of weird we are living these days.
Anyone can make a video game almost on demand at this point. Need an app to simplify part of your workflow? Make an app with AI to do that thing, easily.
Yet most people haven't caught on to what all opportunity is available to them today. Much less having put the connections together to really grok the potential changes coming based on the compounding growth signals we are seeing in the advancement of AI and associated technologies.
Old Man Josh: "Back in my day, when I was a kid, people were really broke. Like now but we made less and things were a little cheaper and there weren't nearly as many things to spend money on as there are now. What was I talking about?"
Modern Josh: "I'm not certain but I believe it was about opportunity and bootstrapping like a boomer would say."
Old Man Josh: "Don't you dare call me a boomer! You know better, I'm gen X or something cool sounding like that. Anyways, yeah, when I was a kid, we had to hustle adults in the neighborhood for money. Do odd jobs for them and such. And if you had equipment, and could specialize in something you could get better jobs more consistently. That's how I started collecting yard equipment and repairing it to mow lawns when I was 13. I had comics to buy and an arcade I wanted to plug full of quarters. Life was good, but it took a lot of work for not much money. That's how I learned about leverage, and how to apply it to get more money for less work. I started trading comics, collectible cards, going to yard sales with my grandfather to learn how to spot antiques that could be resold for a profit. These things taught me how to identify value and how to extract worth with less effort than mowing lawns and other physical labor tasks. Highly specialized physical labor still pays more in the right circumstances, but for a kid in the 90's that didn't seem like something I wanted for my future.
Now days you have all these AI tools and many of them are free or offer free options. You can do almost anything for free, or at least get to it from free if you manage your efforts and finances correctly."
Modern Josh: "Okay Boomer"
Old Man Josh: "I'll kill you!"
Modern Josh: "Only if you want to cease to exist. I'm your past self after all."
