Creative Urge

I think that one of the most fundamental drives in a human is the creative urge.

Not everyone identifies as an artist or creative, yet we all make something through the course of our lives. Even if it's just writing a poem, painting our kitchen wall, or having a child. Maybe it's making an impact on someone else, but no matter what we are making something.

It is inherent to the human experience, that capacity to create.

And one of the most important things we can do in life is to foster the freedom and space to do so for ourselves and others.
How often do you take the time to sit and just be who you are, long enough that you can feel free to honestly express yourself in some way?

If you're anything like me, you often mean to, or think you have done a good job balancing time for that. But when you look at the data, the actual dates and times, the gaps are far larger than there's any reasonable excuse for ignoring your needs for so long. This is one reason I like obsidian, you can create a dashboard or widget to help track such things to keep you accountable to yourself.
I'm still working on the actual workflow and templates I want to use full time. But I'm at least experimenting with it daily.

What does your system look like? What methods do you prefer? I'll share mine soon. Can't wait to hear about yours as well.
