Spell Baselines
Baseline damage and parameters for common spell archetypes. Apply Flux Check System tier rules, then use Damage Application Order. Costs are paid before activation (see Magic System and specific spell writeups).
Offensive Archetypes (by skill tier)
- Bolt (single target, line-of-sight): 1d6 → 1d8 → 1d10 as skill milestones increase; Range 60 ft → 120 ft → 240 ft.
- Cone (close AoE): 15 ft cone at low tier, 30 ft at mid, 60 ft at high; per-target dice 1 step below Bolt at same tier.
- Orb/Blast (medium AoE): 10 ft radius (small), 20 ft (standard); dice equal to Bolt at same tier, targets within area.
Defensive/Utility Archetypes
- Shield/Block: Reduces incoming damage by 1–3 steps on Damage Dice Scale before multiplication; duration 1 round; scales with skill.
- Slow/Hamper: Apply Conditions#Slowed with tier-scaling end checks.
- Root/Bind: Apply Conditions#Immobilized (Restrained/Frozen) with tier-scaling end checks.
