The Titan Cherries of Rockport

An Account for Travelers, Festival-Goers, and Friends of the Village

Welcome, friend, to Rockport. You’ve arrived in a season of blossoms, when the southern banks of Willowmere Lake blush with the pink of the Titan Cherry trees. These mighty trees grow nowhere else in the world, and their fruit, wood, and blossoms are the lifeblood of our village.

The Trees

The Titan Cherry resembles an ordinary cherry in form, but grows to towering heights and lives for ages beyond counting. Some say our oldest trees were here before the first stones of Rockport were laid. Each spring they cast their blossoms upon the waters, and the lake itself turns rose-colored under the drifting petals.

The Fruit

  • Common Titan Cherries are about the size of apples—sweet, rich, and a meal unto themselves.

  • Greater Titan Cherries are rare, the size of melons, and can feed a family for a week.

  • The Rare Titans appear only in the most blessed years, and are great enough to serve a feast hall.

What makes them special is not just their size, but their keeping quality. Where common cherries spoil in days, a Titan Cherry lasts for months—or longer—without losing its taste. Many a family saves one to brighten the dark of winter.

The Honey

The bees that sip the blossoms craft a honey unlike any other—golden, with a floral and mineral sweetness. Locals say a spoonful calms the heart, and no festival is complete without honey cakes or Titan mead.

The Wood & Smoke

The trees drink deep of the mineral springs, making their wood light yet strong, and strangely resistant to flame. Our carpenters say it lasts twice as long as pine or oak. The bark and leaves, when dried, lend a fine smoke for curing meats and brewing teas. Some travelers swear the taste lingers like memory itself.

The Festivals

When the blossoms fall, Rockport gathers for days of music, feasts, and trade. Children play in petal-showers; lovers exchange blossom crowns; elders tell tales of the oldest trees. Travelers are welcome to join, though beware—outsiders who pluck blossoms too greedily may earn the ire of both villagers and spirits.

Tales & Beliefs

  • A blossom falling on your shoulder is a blessing of long life.

  • Carve your lover’s name into the bark, and your romance will last a lifetime.

  • Some say the trees lean together, whispering secrets on the wind.

  • And beware the tale of the blood pit—for a Titan Cherry grown from blood bears only cursed fruit.

Whether these are truths or tales, every villager holds them close.

Closing Words

Traveler, should you taste a Titan Cherry, savor it. Should you drink the honey, bless the bees. And should you walk the blossom path along Willowmere, tread with respect. For the Titan Cherries are more than trees—they are Rockport’s guardians, and in their blossoms and roots lies the story of our village.
